Carlos Suarez-Quian, PhD

Dr. Carlos A. Suárez-Quian is a tenured professor at Georgetown University, Washington D.C., in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology.

Dr. Suárez-Quian received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. from Harvard University in Cell Biology. He did his post-doctoral training at the National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development. He joined Georgetown University in 1986 where he teaches cadaveric, dissection-based courses to 1st and 4th year medical students, master level students and undergraduates. Currently he is course director and lead instructor of the Clinical Gross Anatomy Program at Georgetown University. Among his numerous teaching awards, he was named Magis Professor in 2008, the highest teaching award granted by Georgetown.

Dr. Suárez-Quian has published over 60 research studies, and authored and co-authored various educational resources and text books, such as the Online Guided Gross Anatomy Dissector (Oxford University Press).
