Rita Azucas, MD

Rita is a medical doctor from Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay. She is currently working at the pediatric endocrinology department at Instituto da Criança, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Dr. Azucas has completed her pediatrics residency program at Universidad Nacional de Asunción, and then started a subspecialization in pediatric endocrinology at Instituto da Criança.

As a student in 2012, Rita founded the International Federation of Medical Students Associations in Paraguay. From 2012 to 2013, she served as the vice president of Sociedad Científica de Estudiantes de Medicina, and as the president of the society from 2013 to 2014. Dr. Azucas has been an active member of the American Society for Microbiology.

Dr. Rita Azucas has been dedicated to scientific research, with papers published in impactful journals such as the Bulletin of the World Health Organization and Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.
